An Orthodox Christian Church in North Mississippi
Our Patron Saint
St. Paul the Apostle, the patron of our church, is one of the most significant figures in the early Church. Though initially known as Saul, a zealous Pharisee who persecuted Christians, he experienced the uncreated light coming from the Risen Christ on the road to Damascus that changed his life forever.
From that moment, Paul became the tireless Apostle to the Gentiles. He undertook vast missionary journeys across the Roman Empire, establishing Christian communities and becoming the most prolific author in the New Testament. His inspired Epistles, full of both theological depth and practical instruction for believers, continue to guide Orthodox Christians today. We strive to follow his example of passionate faith and fearless evangelism.
We venerate thee with gladness, O preacher of the Gentiles and thrice great star, teacher of the Athenians and splendor of the world. We honor thy struggles and tortures, suffered on behalf of Christ, and thy sacred martyrdom. O Holy Apostle Paul, intercede with Christ God that our souls be saved.
